Dr. Habeeb Salami
Advocacy, Policy Analysis, Evaluation, SRHR, DRM, Capacity strengthening
Dr. Habeeb Salami is a physician, a global health and development professional with experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), health systems strengthening (HSS), advocacy for domestic resource mobilization (DRM), public policy analysis, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and capacity building. Dr. Salami has worked in countries throughout Africa and Asia, leading strategic advocacy training programs for example in Cameroon, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Chad, and Togo, under the auspices of Johns Hopkins University and Partners in Population and Development Africa Regional Office (PPD ARO). His contributions to Nigeria's Demographic Dividend agenda, HIV/AIDS workplace interventions with the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) and the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), quality assurance programs, and strategic planning for tertiary health institutions underscore his operational depth and impact. Dr. Salami runs Globalgreen Health Systems Ltd and has led technical and evaluation assignments for premier global health institutions including UNFPA, World Bank, Johns Hopkins University, NACA, the Federal Ministry of Health (Nigeria), several State Ministries of Health, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and the University of Ibadan. He is motivated by the pursuit of stronger, more accountable health systems where transparency, community ownership, and government responsibility converge to deliver lasting impact—an ethos shared by TAAC. Dr. Salami holds an MBBS degree, completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology (MWACS), and earned an MPH. In addition, he holds multiple professional certifications in public policy analysis, project management, and health systems reform.
